Sometime later the three of us got out of bed and got dressed. Pyra was completely healed, and full of energy. When we were ready, Aeris pressed the purple button on the door panel to transport us to the kitchen.

“Purple?” I said as Aeris opened the refrigerator.

“Yes, for kitchen,” she said, pulling a jug of milk out.

“How?”

“Well… Oh,” she said, staring blankly at the wall. “You are right, that one does not make sense. I will change it to be black.”

I shook my head at her and sat at the kitchen table. I may have had super healing abilities, but I was exhausted as hell.

“Cereal?” said Aeris with a smile.

“Sure,” I said, watching Pyra’s grimace as Aeris poured dry cereal into a bowl and covered it with milk.

“I would make your own if I were you,” said Pyra, taking the cereal box from Aeris.

“I think you’re exaggerating,” I said, accepting the bowl from Aeris. It didn’t make sense for someone to be bad at making cereal if all they were doing was pouring milk over dry cereal, and I was too hungry to turn down any kind of food.

I put a spoonful of chocolate puff cereal in my mouth, and it nearly made me vomit. It was like sour milk had been poured over old dog food. I casually spit it back into the bowl while Aeris was turned away at the sink, and Pyra had to cover her mouth to stifle her laughter.

“I told you, I am not crazy. Take this,” she said quietly, passing me a bowl she had just made. I was skeptical, thinking it would be the same thing, but I took one piece out with my spoon and tried it.

It tasted like a normal chocolate puff cereal.

“How…” I said, staring at the two bowls. They had done literally the same exact thing. Pyra nodded at me with a knowing look.

“Do you like it?” said Aeris, biting her thumb with anticipation when she came back to the table.

“It’s like nothing I’ve had before,” I said, not wanting to outright lie to her.

“See! I told you I am good at making cereal!” she said with an extremely smug look. Pyra rolled her eyes and continued eating, clearly knowing better than to bring more attention to the subject.

I heard the door slide open behind me, and turned around to see Terra enter the room. Her hair was wild and she looked like she had just woken up.

“Hey, you sleep okay?” I said, pushing a chair out for her. She took the chair beside me and plopped down into it.

“As well as can be expected on a Telios ship,” she said, shooting a glance at Pyra who seemed to be ignoring her existence completely. She looked down at the bowl of cereal I had moved aside and pulled it in front of her. Before I could stop her, she put a spoonful of Aeris’s cereal in her mouth.

Pyra and I both watched in horror as Terra chewed the cereal and swallowed, then took another spoonful.
